  • Hello Tazman,

Welcome to The Pain Community (TPC). Take a look around the website and let us know if we can be of assistance.

Those are multiple ways that you can interact with others on a journey of pain or have a loved one or friend dealing with pain.

You already found the forums so I want to let you know about the hosted chats we have on…[Read more]

  • Hello, Detour12,

We are sorry to hear you are experiencing this pain. We are unable to suggest any treatments for you as we are not medical professionals. We read you are going to see a urologist and that is good. Even though you did speak to your doctor it is hard to make a diagnosis over the phone, can you make an appointment and go in to see…[Read more]

  • Hi Jrasted, I am so sorry for what has happened to you. One thing I do not understand is how that doctor can tell you that you cannot see your primary care provider again. I just cannot see how the other doctors in the practice would be accepting of this guy taking their patients. Even though I would be scared, worried and so much more, I would…[Read more]

  • Thank you for helping us to understand what our spouses may be dealing with. Sometimes I think we forget that our pain can and does affect our caregivers directly.

  • Hello,

I recently started a yoga program and I am finding it helpful. I cannot say that it is decreasing my pain levels yet however it has gotten me out of house and socializing again. I also enjoy doing it and the instructors are fabulous and took the many health issues I have into account and are always watching out that I do not do something…[Read more]

  • Hi Natalie Hudgins,

Welcome to The Pain Community (TPC). We wish we were meeting under different circumstances. It is beyond scary and frustrating not knowing from one doctor appointment to another if we will be able to receive the needed treatments that work to ease our pain and give us some quality of life.

We are happy that you have found us…[Read more]

  • Hello MelB,

It is nice to meet you. I wish it was under different circumstances. I think it is great that you have taken this positive step for yourself. I took this same step many years ago and I have never regretted it. I have met some wonderful people over the years and have made many life long friends and I love to make new friends.

    I see…[Read more]

  • Hi MelB,

Welcome to The Pain Community (TPC). We understand as with all chronic illness, people with pain often feel isolated and alone. They can feel separated from their families, friends, communities, and all too often, from life itself.

Here at TPC we understand that people with pain need a safe, judgment free place where they can share and…[Read more]

  • Hi Terri,

It was wonderful to meet and talk with you on the support conference call. Many of the calls do go to the two hour mark and sometimes beyond that.
Here at, The Pain Community (TPC) we understand that for many who join the calls they do so because they need to hear friendly and caring voices who understand the journey of pain. They need…[Read more]

  • Hi Terri,

We are so pleased that you are finding The Pain Community (TPC) to be helpful. If you are available we actually have one of the support calls tomorrow, Tuesday, June 5th at 1pm ET.

I do understand how the pain isolates because I also live with pain. At times it can feel like I am the only person left on the planet. That is where…[Read more]

  • I find that explaining what the number means to me and then telling them my number is more helpful — plus also telling them how limited I am in activity.

For example, I’ll say — a kidney stone is a 10, child birth is an 8, a broken bone is a 5-6. I wake up every morning at a 6 or higher and right now, I’m an 8.

For some reason, giving them…[Read more]

  • Welcome Guit30 – I’ve lived with back pain for 16 years now – along with a long list of other conditions. Finding treatments that help and physicians who are willing to take the time to really dig in and help you find the right combination of treatment that will help are definitely challenges. I haven’t had access to medications in many years.…[Read more]

  • Hi Terri,

I can definitely relate. I work from home and spend most days by myself – unless you count my kitty. If I don’t have any phone conferences, I can go for days without talking to anyone.

The internet is a great lifeline and TPC provides a safe place that we can all “talk” to each other. The telephone support is great as are the forums…[Read more]

  • Hi Jhonsontic,

Lifting up prayers for you. Welcome! I can definitely say that faith is one of the tools in my pain arsenal and so important. One of my other tools is the great group of folks here. Being able to talk to others living with pain who really “get it” is so helpful to me.

I look forward to getting to know you.

  • Hi Richard,

Welcome!! We’ve got the forums 24/7, plus moderated chats Monday, Wednesday & Friday at 11am EST and regular telephone support.

I host the Friday chats and would love the opportunity to chat with you. I’ve lived with pain for 16 years and have learned so much from the folks here on living my life in a positive and hopeful way.

  • Hi Tiltnturn – Welcome! I can certainly relate to the dampness issue. I feel like I’ve been beaten up lately. Bad storms here in Georgia on and off for weeks. Feels like riding a roller coaster.

I like your advice on staying positive – and especially about not dwelling on it. My go-to pain “remedy” is complete distraction. If I can keep my mind…[Read more]

  • Thank you for asking, my day has been one of increased pain over the last several days. Once my bones get that damp rainy feeling it is hard to get it out again. It is my life so I just keep moving forward a little at a time.

Hope your pain from getting the car serviced eases soon.
