  • The cold has also began rolling in over the mountains here in WV. I understand the tight muscles and such. It has only just begun and I already feel like it is going right through the bones.

I think at some point we all feel exactly as you in regards to the question, are we okay. How does one answer that question when the answer is not…[Read more]

  • I am so glad that your son got to come for a visit. We do tend to over-do when we have family or friends come for a visit.

Sounds like Ms. Kitty has gotten very comfortable with her surroundings and from reading her post on the other forum she has made a few friends (even though she would never admit that).

Our weather has turned cold at night…[Read more]

  • Awww Ms. Kitty we know you are a sweetie underneath the grumpy exterior. You are so kind to let them come aboard to visit from time to time.

  • Ynver,

Those are all really good ideas. I also have the issues with reaching stuff on higher shelves and using the bottom of the cart. It is hard enough to pick up the heavier items but then to bend to get them under the buggy is madness some days. Once I get heavy things like washing detergent or cases of soda down there I have a hard time…[Read more]

  • Hi Lizzben,

It was nice chatting with you in the chat on Wednesday. I understand way you are as I have been told many times that same thing, “sorry we can’t help you with the pain”.

I have been lucky that my family doctor continues to help me with options for pain relief. I have tried a couple of the pain management programs offered by one of…[Read more]

  • Bd,

It is so comforting to hear that you are exactly where you and Ms. Kitty need to be. I adore that you have such wonderful dock mates to help you when needed. It sounds like Ms. Kitty has explored her surroundings and has a few places she has not shared with you.
I have to say that as I was reading your post, I got tense when I read she was…[Read more]

  • Lizzben,

Thank you for sharing the treatment options that you are trying. With so many different treatments out there it can be down right frustrating and scary. Having someone to share what they have experienced allows others to gain some insight.
We wish you the very best in your treatment and low pain days.

  • Bd,

As I was reading over the last two entries I could hear my brain saying stop…wait a minute…I want to stay in canyon country for a little while. The wonderful descriptions you gave about the rabbit run and the dry river beds instantly took my brain to those places.

There are days here in my pain world where my brain wanders off down a…[Read more]

  • Ambersprun,

Those are some really great questions. I know for myself the thing that helps me the most is one of those Reachers/Grabbers. The problem is finding one that folds up small enough to keep in my purse but is still strong enough to pick up heavier items on the top or bottom shelves.
The expense is another issue, in order to find one that…[Read more]

  • Those are some powerful questions you put forth. I feel it is important to keep ourselves grounded in the present if at a possible. I live with pain, the pain is part of who I am and so I have to include it in my day to day life, when planning a trip to the store or across the country.

Finding the answers to those questions is a journey in…[Read more]

  • Ms. Kitty,

Do be careful when you are keeping watch. That first step is wet one. I know that Bd worries about you slipping off in to the water. You are so smart to wake up Bd so he could help you dry off.

Make sure you stay a couple steps ahead of that dog that chases you.

    Take care,
