The Pain Community (TPC) recently donated a Top 15 trophy along with TPC key chains for the 3rd Annual Friendly Car People (FCP) Charity car show in Morgantown, WV. The event was held was at the Mountaineer Mall in Morgantown, WV in June and raised just shy of $800.00 to benefit The James and Derek Hotsinpiller Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The James and Derek Hotsinpiller Memorial Scholarship Fund, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c) (3) charity based in Bridgeport, WV. The scholarship encourages higher education for local graduating high school students from Harrison County, WV, who have been accepted into a state college or university with their major in law enforcement and or social science, who plan on pursuing this has their chosen career.
Since the beginning of the scholarship fund in early 2011, the fund has awarded six scholarships to students who have demonstrated strong skills in leadership among their peers and in their community.
The James and Derek Hotsinpillar Memorial Scholarship Fund continues to honor the service and memory of Jim and Derek Hotsinpiller.
- Lt. James W. Hotsinpiller, Jr. served as member of the Bridgeport Police Department for 27 years. He was second in command at the department and was a member of the Child Abuse Task Force. Jim worked as commander of the Bridgeport’s Special Response Team, and also worked closely with Clarksburg’s Special Response Unit.
- Deputy US Marshal Derek W. Hotsinpiller followed in his father’s career path. After graduating from Fairmont State University in 2005 with a degree in Criminal Justice, Derek pursued his dream to become a Deputy US Marshal.
- Derek attended the USMS Academy and was the youngest member of his class. On April 23, 2010, Derek graduated and was issued badge number 4595.
